Arlington Road Corridor Improvements
The $13.5 million contract with Xtreme Elements moves the two-year Arlington Road project forward. Arlington Road will stay open during construction, but there will be a short Bettler Road closure, and officials are working on a communication plan and cut-through traffic controls.
Concrete contractor workmanship and road notification gaps
Council members flagged recurring complaints about the citywide concrete repair contractor — slurry runoff, dead grass — and a Mayfair Road microsurfacing backup with no geofenced notification to drivers.
Deteriorated street signs and light poles in older developments
A resident showed the council a barely readable street sign at Briarwood and Maplewood and faded street-light poles, asking whether the city has any replacement protocol. Staff said there isn't a systematic program — call the service department and it gets replaced case by case.
Stoney Creek Estates Phase V street lighting district (Resolution 2026-R49)
The developer pays to install street lights in the new phase, but homeowners there will pay operating costs through property tax assessments.
Meadow Wood traffic safety and speed humps
Speeding cars — many carrying high school students — are cutting through Meadow Wood, worsened by the Bott Road closure, with no sidewalks and kids waiting at bus stops. The mayor says speed humps bought during the Arlington Road project will be installed on a trial basis, with resident feedback to follow.
SR-619 and SR-241 resurfacing partnership
Green would pay 20% of resurfacing costs inside city limits (about $800,000) plus full costs of ADA curb ramps and extra items, with work starting in 2028. Held for time.
Bettler Road closure
Bettler Road closes to eastbound traffic on August 31 for over a month, with westbound lanes remaining open. Detours have been posted.
Arlington Road construction disruptions
Kunkle & Sons gets the concrete repair contract at $126,716 despite past subpar work, after agreeing to fix mistakes. Arlington Road closures hit late August, with Southwood Drive extension opening mid-September as a detour.
